can I use a recovery disk on a different desktop?

I have recovery disks for my desktop which is: HP model p6604y/AMD 2.8/6 GB/64 bit/Windows7

and I was wondering if I could use those disks for my HP pavilion slimline desktop model: s5310f AMD 3.00GHZ, 4GB, 64 bit Windows 7

(please answer if I can or not, that is my main question)

The back story to this is that my slimline desktop randomly is not having internet bc the driver is not working anymore! I used different ones and for some reason the wireless adapater randomly stopped. i know its not an issue with the adpater bc it works on the other computer or laptops when i plug it in, so i was just hoping to clear the dektop and use the recovery disks I have for the model p6604y to do so.

thx.

Update:

* I think windows update may have caused the driver problem. I already tried downloading an updated driver

* also is it bad if I try? like will it hurt the computer if I run the disks?

you need a start up disk for windows, if you want to use it on another computer, not a recovery disk it is specific for your computer, but you only use either one if your computer crashes which it hasn't done. You don't need to set up windows again if it's only a driver, go to your adapters maker, instead of Windows and get another driver from there. If you do a recovery, the driver will still not work if it's bad.

I'm not a computer geek, but I would guess you could. Just put in. If you have the Windows 7 disk and do a repair. Or for $30 you can get driver detective which I use. I'm not trying to sell you a product by no means do I benefit from telling you this but I found a good product to use. You can use it with three different computers and it will update your drivers a lot better than Windows automatic update does. But you need to be online for it to properly work. I had a problem when I built my computer trying to get it to go online because the wireless 10 x 100 card or whatever they call it for wireless Internet did not have a driver so I had to go on another computer to get the driver. You need to go into your device manager and find your driver for your Internet and try to update it or at least get the name of what it is. Then you go on another computer and type the name of your driver that you need in Google and download the driver and put it in your other computer which is free anyway I hope I stayed on target with your question. That's all I really know. Good luck

No it will not work it is made specifically for the computer it was on. You could try getting your wireless cards device name and download the drivers off the hp official website. Good luck !

No, you could not set up a clean OS from restoration discs those are meant to recuperate your put in OS from a failure and are not an 'installation' disc. in case you have a actual domicile windows 'Key' then you definately the two borrow a disc or can receive from everywhere you will hit upon a domicile windows installation of the comparable version as your 'Key' and that would desire to help you re-set up the OS legally. - as long as you in basic terms hold one working OS!

No it will not work. The recovery disk is an image of your computer including the software license and hardware and that image will not work on a different computer.
