Here's one example: While CEO of Verizon in 2009, Seidenberg earned a total compensation of $17,012,407, which included a base salary of $2,100,000, a cash bonus of $2,953,125, stocks granted of $11,079,000, no options granted, and other compensation of $880,282.

Something happened to the US, the wage disparity is out of control and there is no money for companies to hire or to be good citizens, it all goes to greedy management.

Have you seen the reports on China lately? This is what happens when industry goes unchecked. The conservative view is that industry can govern themselves and China is proof they cannot. US manufactures can easily meet US standards but its far more profitable to destroy Chinas environment.

Its not that its too expensive, its that it costs money that they would rather use as profit.

They can afford it and still show a profit, but they would rather kick and scream about it than just pay for the upgrades.
