Could someone help me with a wordpress blog question?

I just need a few opinions!! Thank you. Would I be more successful to blog using wordpress OR write for a site called Triond which uses adsense? I want to start making some money, but I'm not sure if it would be best to blog or write for a site like eHow/Triond? Hope I made sense...thanks!

I prefer writing for my own blog, than getting paid as a third party contributor in sites such as Triond or eHow for the following reasons:

    - You own your work. If you decide later on to compile everything you've written into another product (book, ebook), you are free to do so. There are no copyright restrictions

    - It is your blog. It will be your name on the blog. If you want to be known as an expert later on, having your own blog to showcase your knowledge is the best way

    - Adsense already has a cut from the income of the publisher (68% publisher revenue share). When you submit your content with Triond, that 68% will still be shared between the two of you. This means you have lower potential income for your writing.

The downside is that you will be starting from scratch, especially in terms of traffic. And you've got to work doubly hard to find traffic to your site. But it will be worth it

From my personal experience I think writing on your own blog is the best. In regards to your mention of AdSense, I've actually made more money by offering my own advertising services to my readers than from Google AdSense. All I did was put up a page on my blog with a form to contact me about advertising.

The last recent deal I made was with an advertising agency to put a custom article on my site (with legit content akin to what I'd write). I made $250 just off of that!
