In my opinion I think 12 is too young to date... way too young, especially to be left home alone with a girl. I wouldn't doubt that they are experimenting with sex or other things. Your the parent you should be the responsible one and stop things before they go to far or move to fast. If you think it's okay for him to date then so be it, but you should be keeping an eye on them and definitely not leaving them home alone unattended. That's just pure ignorance.

It all depends on the kid. Some kid will kiss a girl and be satisfied with that and other boys want more but he may not even know that much about sex yet. Which means you need to start talking to him about it and protection because you rather be safe than sorry and its really irresponsible to leave two 12 year olds alone. Your worried about them moving to fast but you aren't there to monitor them..

Dude! DONT leave them home alone! without proper education they could experiment which could lead to sex. they are too young to be dating in the first place, and a 12 year old doesnt know the true meaning of love i can tell you that for sure.

As a 13 year old, I've 'dated' before. I've found it doesn't last. Just make sure he knows sex ed, no matter how uncomfortable it might be. You're a parent, you can threaten a bit. My mom does it all the time. You should be worried though, you're a parent. I'd just be careful and make sure he knows. :)
