Anyone tried hip braces for dogs?

My German Shepard has arthritis in her back and has started having trouble with her back legs. She wobbles and sways and sometimes can't hold her rear end up. Has anyone tried the back braces that are suppose to help support the back legs and make walking easier for them? Thanks for any suggestions

Update:

She is already a regular at the vet and is on meds to help her. I'm just looking for something that might help her walk a little easier and i've seen these braces supports advertised, she is only 6 yrs old

Search lumbosacral stenosis/cauda equina/spondylosis - synonyms which all describe a common type of "doggy sciatica". It can be relieved with NSAIDS and pain meds from your vet. For some dogs, an injection of cortisone helps - go to www.greythealth.com and click on the lumbosacral stenosis link on the left for details and a diagram. Print them up if your vet is not familiar with this treatment. I assume your dog is already on glucoosamine, fish oil, and other anti-inflammatory supplements for arthritis. I cannot imagine that any type of brace would work for a dog's hind legs. Dogs move very differently than humans.
