Nightmares coming into reality as I wake?
I've had 3 separate occasions (2 in one night) within the last 4 months, of waking up seeing spiders near or on me. I could absolutely swear on my life they were real and in my fear I jump out of bed and switch the light on, my heart pumping and fear pouring from me. It turns out I am imagining these things but they are so real when it happens and I don't know what to do.
I am now 4 months pregnant and am concerned that this could have a negative effect on my pregnancy, also I am so fearful of going to sleep, I only got about 3 hours last night and I've been so tired all day but I am terrified about going to sleep tonight.
Could anyone shed some light and some remedies for this awful experience?

The stress of these dreams could possibly have a negative affect on the baby, since the baby can feel your emotions. Since you are only 4 months into the pregnancy though I do not think It will affect the baby much. Usually things like this happen when you are in whats called Stage 4 of sleep. There are four stages to our sleep cycles. In stage 4 you are completely unconscious, and if you are woken up suddenly it is very possible for your dreams to "follow" you into your waking consciousness. I think that I would consider this a night terror. This might be caused by a previous fear of spiders, or something spider like crawls on you or touches you when you sleep (not trying to freak you out..) and ur mind associated the feeling with spiders, thus the dream. Try and figure out what might be possibly causing these dreams, really think about it. I'm not sure about many remedies I apologise :/ I really hope this was at least somewhat helpful.

You may want to try and seek the benefits of cannabis. It will help you sleep a lot more comfortably, and you will be in a better mood so it might help in relinquishing those nightmares! Take care.

They're just nightmares, don't be scared to sleep.
Do you eat before you go to bed? Sometimes that causes nightmares... especially if it's red meat..
try not to eat 2 hours before you go to bed! if you really need to have a warm glass of milk to help you relax.
