Atheists, Christians, whoever you are; what do you make of this report from the BBC about a possible 'missing link'?

I'm always hesitant to believe news stories like this. The media has a tendency to blow these types of finds out of proportion, and because they don't require peer review, can basically say whatever they like to get more readers.
When the "missing link" called "Ida" was found a few years back, the media brazenly declared the human evolutionary chain to be completed... despite the fact that it already was. Ida connected what eventually split off into monkeys (and apes, including humans) and strepsorhinids like lemurs. The human evolutionary chain is fairly complete, and this finding doesn't really add any new information just yet.

Has a positive connection been made to other humans?
If not, why would you take on faith what the find is? If so, why are we reading this in a non-science publication?

It will probably turn out like the Piltdown man hoax which originated in England.

I think it's my cousin, twice removed. As a Christian, I believe God made everything, and according to the Bible, we're all related through our Creator, and the materials He used.
