Hiya Dallas. That's a good description of a terribly sad incident. It throws light on necessity of swimming.I really feel very disheartened upon reading calamities expressed in poetry.I know swimming so there is no chance of me drowning.I never had any friend or relative who lost his life in water or any other accident. So I really haven't experienced the sorrow of being in such a situation. But really well written and expressed. Thanks(o)

I almost drowned once when I was a kid. This really captures the feeling. I can remember looking up, toward the top of the pool, and wondering how I was going to get out. It wasn't scary while it was happening, just strange.

    Good writing.

  • Another one in the style of Carl Sandberg but I like this one better than the last one I read. The subject is a little macabre but still a good poem.

Hi Dallas, good morning to you (afternoon here). I've often wondered what it would feel like to drown.(not metaphorically, I've been there enough) I got the drift from your poem, but somehow I was expecting it to be more drawn out and to take longer. An interesting subject for you to tackle today.

OMG hon I cannot comment on your poem after reading the answer from Caz- which of course shows the profound effect of your work.

Caz, you have a unique gift of offsetting anything you want to with natural grace and humor.

    Thank you Dal...

It is eternity when fear enters from my memory, then the panic and action to reach the surface. I would wonder though at what point do you give up? I think I'll leave that question open.

Many aspects of drowsing, in love, in spirit, in reality and more, captured beautifully in your heart and poetic words, that takes one with you on the journey.
