Hip bone "thigh bone" [femur] is connected to the pelvis , [but not actually fixed] and the Tibia and Fibiar at the Knee [patella]

What you probably mean is the ball joint on the top of the femur which is called the "neck of femur"

    will check spelling

Well if you're organising your social life correctly, it ought to be connected to the hip bone of a right fit bloke, on the dance floor of some thumping club....with a gutful of e helping it pump away in time to the music.

    Just sayin'
