The USA is broke because they needed to maintain a strong economy in order to maintain the status as a super power both of which could not be maintained without the assured huge steady volume of oil there entire country is dependent on flowing abundantly and unhindered into there storage tanks, in order to safe guard both there status and economy they needed and still need to be in a position of influence where oil is concerned, this was achieved when oil first became

popular and the Arab countries began accepting the US dollar for all their sales, made it the only currency that oil could be bought or sold in thus also making the US dollar the world's reserve currency, this alone has kept the dollar afloat far longer than it would have naturally and is the only thing supporting there economy, but over the years as the value of the dollar has dropped many country's have tried getting rid of it as the currency for oil, but the US knows full well as does the whole world that would make the US dollar worthless and spell the end for them,

In order to maintain this status qua the US has had to spend ridiculous amounts of money on there military used it on anyone who has posed a threat to there interests instituting countless regime changes in country's, interfered in economy's of countless country's around the world as well preventing many economy's and country's from developing and thus from all this evolved petrodollar warfare when in 2000 the real reason for the Iraq invasion Saddam Hussein began accepting Euros for oil instead of dollars,this is the motivation behind many aspects of U.S. foreign policy, the funny thing about it is the very reason for there doing this to avoid going bust protect there economy there worthless dollar and there status, is the very reason that has bankrupted them and put them into more debt than there economy can handle
