can an efi engine be converted to propane?

I have a 92 Dodge Dakota with a 5.2 EFI V8. I found a free/used kit to covert an engine to propane. I am not sure if it will work with an efi engine. It is coming off of a 79' 350 sbc but I am told it to fit pretty much any motor. I guess the only real question is can it work on an EFI motor?

on the ones that i have seen, i dont think that it would be an issue. the fuel system is shut off and the propane enters over the throttle body. even if it is a carb, the same thing would take place.

It can, but some electronic components are needed for the ECU. Google LPG conversions and find someone in your area that does it.
