The Minecraft Skin uploader wont work.?

I just made a Minecraft skin that I want to upload. I go to Minecraft.net to change it. I click browse, select my skin, then click upload. It then refreshes the page but the skin does not change. I have the skin set to the 64x32 ratio like it says and its as small as the template that you download. Is it just me or everyone that's having trouble?

    If you have minecraft open and playing while you are trying to change the skin, after browsing and uploading your new skin, close minecraft completely and re-log back in for the skin to be able to show. If it goes to the default skin, there is something wrong with the image file that you saved. Also, the image file that you save for the skin must have the extension .png not .jpg.

    Minecraft.net is down as of 2011/9/17, so thats why you cannot upload a new skin.
