Minecraft 1.8 black screen?

I just updated to minecraft 1.8, and tried to start a new game to check it out. I got a loading screen and then all I got was a black screen. I use a mac.

Has anyone experienced this error? Does anyone have a solution?

This problem has been occurring on numerous Macbooks including mine and a few of my friends. The problem lies in one of the java scripts. It seems that there has been no solution so far. Deleting the bin file might help but the problem probably does not lie there.

Hey, i was able to get a screenshot of the white box that flashes for a millisecond and it says."minecraft has crashed!" and a bunch of technical data. point is, were SOL for now. Bummer, im pissed too

Delete the bin file in your .minecraft file then start minecraft back up. If it doesn't work reinstall.

It's because your running 10.5.8 I assume, to my knowledge Notch hasn't addressed it but this affects alot of people so I hope he does.
