Remote access software for unattended computer?
I need a way to leave my home computer on, and access it remotely from another place. Is there any way I can do that?
Here are the things I need:
* automatic connection: The home computer remains unattended... I can't manage errors, connection trouble (which would cause a disconnect) and that kind of problems, so the program must somehow resolve these problems automatically and the worse that can happen would need reconnecting...
* no user input: the host computer shouldn't need any user input to function, etc...
* easy file transfer: I need to transfer files (not big ones, <1mb... but many)
For the host, the program can be either for windows 7 or ubuntu, but for the computer I connect from, it has to work with windows.

Try something like Remote Desktop Connection that comes with your computer. You can configure connection security.
Alternatively, there are other tools like RealVNC. Look into that one although it costs about $30 for a license for the server end (that's the computer you want to control remotely.) The connecting software is free.
Windows Live has a tool also although I don't know how secure or robust it might be.
I use RealVNC myself, running the connection from an iPad over the Internet to home systems. It works well enough.

team viewer . during install dont select the default option of needing to give out a new access code each time. set it to have just one.. copy down that access code (the one on the remote computer). instal team viewer on your computer you want to use to connect to remote computer. and then you can enter the access code whenever you want to remote to the computer.. The remote computer will not need someone there to accept the remote connection
A program that automatically fixes errors and connection troubles.. well if that existed then us IT guys will ALL be out of jobs

Use logmein.com or gotomypc.com. If you only need files use one (or more) of the free online drive that are no cost through Yahoo, MSN\Live, Google,..
I used LogMeIn.com but I have heard good things about GoToMyPc.com also.
