For women who are over-weight, were you able...?

My friend is trying to have a baby, but she is kind of over-weight. Has anyone had any problems conceiving due to weight issues? If so what did you do to fix those problems? And for those who have been able to get pregnant did you have a hard pregnancy? What kind of issues did you have during your pregnancy? And how was the baby's health? And any advice on how to lose weight would also be appreciated. Thank you.

"Kind of overweight". What does that mean? Is she kind of overweight or is she morbidly obese? Big difference there.

I was a tad under 200 pounds each of the 3 times I conceived (although one ended in a very early miscarriage which was most likely due to chromosomal abnormalities, not my weight). Although I'm obese (but not morbidly obese) I'm very fertile and have no trouble whatsoever getting pregnant if I have unprotected sex. It takes me a few months MAX to get pregnant when I'm not taking precautions. My weight has given me no issues whatsoever. I did not have gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, or any other abnormal conditions during my previous pregnancy or this one so far. My son was born pretty healthy although he was born early at 36w6d because my water randomly broke. He had trouble breathing for just a few hours because he was born by c-section (he was breech) and still had some fluid in his lungs, and he developed jaundice which is super common among all newborns. He's been a healthy little guy ever since and has actually been extremely small for his age.

Basically, my weight had no effect on conceiving/pregnancies for me whatsoever.

If your friend is morbidly obese and has not been ovulating or menstruating regularly, she may have trouble conceiving. The more obese a woman is during pregnancy the more she's at risk for gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and other complications.

I'm a plus-sized mommy and had to deal with alot more than the average-seized girl but it was worth it. I was diagnosed with PCOS. Shortly after, I was diagnosed with diabetes Type 2. I began to take Metformin then Clomid to boost my odds at conceiving. Once my sugar levels came down, I got pregnant. I was considered high risk because my sugars shot back up so I was put on insulin through my whole pregnancy. My baby was monitored much more frequently, I had to get monitored 2x a week in my 9th month of pregnancy. My little girl was born via C-Section at 9 lbs. 7 oz. She was a bigger baby but now she is healthy, tall and super skinny. I'm still working on plumping her up!

I was about 40 pounds overweight when i got pregnant. It only took me one time, pregancy was perfect besides morning sickness, my baby was healthy as could be tiny only 5 ounds 8 ounces but was tested 9 out of 10 after delievery on everything, if your friend isnt extremely overwieght like 60 pounds plus she might be ok but everyones body is differeent
