Simple - it doesn't. Only about 3% of US oil imports come from Libya, the halt of Libyan oil production wouldn't make so much as a glitch on the price of a gallon of gas or a barrel of oil.

The Libyan 'revolution' pretty much closed down all the oil wells,
It is easier to destroy an industry than it is to develop one.
I hope they get back to producing oils soon!

The oil is mainly used by European countries who belong to NATO and the US is part of NATO.
