Vegans, Vegans, Vegans!!?

So I have been vegetarian for 8 months and that is one of the best changes I have ever made, but I wanna go further. I just signed the PETA Vegan Pledge two days ago, so far its very easy, I have been eating Amy's vegan meals and alot of fruit and sauteed veggies. Im doing it mostly for the health benefits but the ethical treatment of animals is a big plus as well. To make a long story short Im passionate about this becoming a lifestyle, I feel good, I have healthier skin, and change is always good. So I need some tips, about good meals, or snacks, or what to get when Im eating out. Any little tip is very much appreciated. :)ng a lifestyle, I feel good, I have healthier skin, and change is always good. Buy a bunch of vegan cookbooks. I have like 50 since I went veg two years ago. A good one to start out with is probably Easy Vegan, or Supermarket Vegan. I use those the most.

Eating out is always a challenge. Just go on websites to look for nutrition information or contact the establishment itself if you have questions about what the food is made out of. But cooking whole foods at home is going to be the best for you. You shouldn't eat so many pre prepared meals.

For snacks I like fruits or cut up veggies, or nuts.

    Good for you :-)

As for eating out.. I haven't 'ate out' in years, lol. So no advice for you there.

Snacks? Nature Valley Peanut Butter Bars or something.. nuts, rice cakes, any fruit or vegetable, Triscuits, Wheat Thins...

I eat a lot of cereal. With almond milk of course. Thomas Cinnamon Swirl bagels are really good. Earth Balance is pretty much a staple for any vegan.

I'm too lazy to think of more, :-P You should check out Peta's Accidentally Vegan list. And ALWAYS Google anything you're unsure about... especially natural flavors! I was eating Chex Mix for the longest time before I found out it may not be vegan :-(

I hope some of this helps.

    Meals:

    Pastas

    Sandwiches

    Veggie soups

    Tofu

    Veggie/bean based burritos/enchiladas/tacos/quesodillas with dairy-free cheese

    Snacks:

    Lara bars

    Trio bars

    Beans

    Soy nuts

    Veggies

    Fruits

    Toast

    Drinks:

    Almond milk

    Soy milk

    Tea

    Juice

    Treats:

    Sorbet

    Soda

    Graham crackers

    Chips

Make sure to have a treat every once in a while so you don't start craving junk. It's actually not hard to be a vegan, I quit meat and dairy cold turkey one day and I was a huge animal product eater.

When you go out to dinner get a salad (without dressing). A good snack when you are vegan is sunflower seeds.

your probably not going to be vegan very long its very unhealthy so I suggest you get regular blood tests.

I'd suggest a steak, maybe some sausages and definitely a hamburger with some meat gravy to wash it down.
