printers printing out blank pages?

ok so i'm using an epson R220 printer with cheap ink that mum bought (not the seahorse stuff), a windows xp computer with microsoft office word 2003 edition.

it did this on me the other day so i went to dads, when i got back it was working again.

i printed out 4 copies of which they were all blank. my printer lately has been printing out blue lines also (but not all the time though), so i then printed out 2 more copies which printed out the blue lines only.

help please

Update:

i just did a line test to show whether theres gaps in the printing which there wasn't. the screen is saying that there is plenty of ink and theres no option to do a test print

Either you have clogged print heads, or your ink cartridges are low, or empty

First step is to see will if it print a test page

Go to Start, settings, printers. Right click on the printer, properties, print test page.

If that doesn't work there should be a head cleaning option in properties that will make it clean the print heads.

If there is still nothing after that then either it’s badly clogged, low or out of ink, and needs to be replaced

my printer was doing that, maybe try contacting epson, i did this, and i bought cheap ink and mine works fine, but see if you have latest drivers etc and shake the ink cartridges to see, also if there is a desk icon for your printer, then try looking on there for test page, my lexmark has it, and if to no avail none of this works, the i suggest just buy the one ive got, lexmark x1180 although its old and not as slow as u would expect, it prints good stuff, if u have any problems with this printer then contact me!!

    hope this helps
