When did you realize you were a Nerd?
At what singular point did you realize you were in incurable techie or "brainiac" and decided to make it your life's calling?
For me, it was when I saw "Blade Runner" in its first release in 1982. When Roy Batty (played by Rutger Hauer) gave his dying soliloquy (the "tears in rain" speech), I cried. Something synthetic wanted to be human, and could only find humanity in dying.
