TTC and planning to do a VBAC!?
My husband and I are TTC our second child, and I was wondering about the chances of a successful VBAC. Our son is 20 months old, so if I were to get pregnant this cycle, it would have been almost 2 1/2 years since I had my c-section. We had to have a c-section because when I was dilated to 8 cm, they couldn't determine if they were feeling my son's head or his butt. 3 nurses and 1 doctor checked me, and they couldn't seem to figure it out, and ultrasound confirmed that it was his butt, so the only reason I needed to do c-section is because my little guy decided to present breech. I really want to do VBAC, not only because it is a heck of a lot cheaper than a c-section, but because I don't want to be on drugs and breast feeding again, and I don't want to spend the 24 hours after my next childs birth, completely oblivious to everything around me. I want to do it without drugs or anything, like I planned with my first born. Do you think under my circumstances, that I would be a good candidate for VBAC? Any personal stories are welcome!!

Best of luck on your TTC and VBAC! :)
Considering the reason for your c-section (breech), and the fact that it was 20 months ago (plenty of time for your scar to heal), I would think you would be an excellent candidate for a VBAC. You have no more chance for another breech birth than any other woman…a previous breech is not an indication for another one. A woman who has had a c-section has a slightly higher chance of a rupture, but it is still quite small…less than 1%.
A word of caution…you may have a harder time finding a doctor who will be willing to take a VBAC patient, even though the ACOG reversed their VBAC policies. Find a good, supportive doctor who will respect your wish to VBAC.
Good luck and baby dust!

Doctors usually say once you have a c-section all the rest of your pregnancies will be them as well. Now some doctors will try it on your request but they are very cautious I too had to have a c-section and the doctor told me that if I ever get pregnant again I will have another c-section but then he said if you request a VBAC they will take it very cautious and be ready for a c-section just in case anything happens. There afraid if the pushing will tear open your c-section scar.
