Yes, very much so.
If you knowingly subjected a person to the disease - and failed to inform the person. And "failure to inform" means not telling the person about ALL the risks BEFORE being exposed. The uninfected person reserves the right to decline, or to except the risk prior to sexual relations. Having and sexual relations, and then afterwards telling the person about the disease doesnt qualify, and charges still apply.
If that person dies, as a result of your actions, you can be charged with premeditated murder.
If the person contracts it, but doesnt die, then you can be charged with attempted murder.
Either way, the person infecting would be serving serious prision time.

Yes it was illegal for the person to give you AIDS, even though you really deserved it for thinking along the lines that would get you to ask this.

Yes, it is likely going to be considered assault or a more serious charge.
