Two questions about colleges?

1) This may sound stupid but I want to be sure. If I apply to lots of colleges and get accepted to a good bit of them, do I have an obligation to that college? Or does getting accepted just mean that I would be able to go there?

2) What are my chances of getting into some good colleges? I live in GA so I have the HOPE scholarship for any instate colleges. I'm looking into getting into computer engineering/programming. Here are my scores.

-It's my senior year of high school.

-3.6 GPA

-1890 SAT score my junior year

-ACT scores I will receive in about a week

-Taking the SAT again in October

-I'm taking 4 AP classes this year and at this rate, three will be A's and one will be a B. That means I'll get three 4.5's and one 3.5. (That's a big IF. Calc seems to be getting easier and we get +7 points in each AP class, along with the +.5 to the GPA score)

How do you think I'm looking to colleges?

Update:

Oh yeah. Also,

-Play varsity tennis

-Tutor kids as a job

-Teach guitar

-Film football as a job

-TSA Sargent-in-Arms (junior year), been in TSA for 4 years, got 5th at state for Structural Engineering.

-FBLA for two years

-FCCLA for one year

-Beta Club for 3 years

Question 1 - nope, you have no obligation unless you committed to an Early Decision to one of them. Then you are obligated to accept the admission and withdraw from the other schools' consideration.

Question 2 - You are looking good for all schools in Georgia other than G-Tech - bunch of overachievers.

The key is to get into a computer program that is ABET-accredited.

Of course you will apply to UGA. But definitely have back-up schools in case UGA doesn't work out your way.

There are accredited Computer Science programs at the following Georgia public universities:

    Georgia Southern

    Southern Polytech

    UWG
