On a space ship, as you approach the speed of light, what are you going to see outside?
I am wondering how the stars outside would be perceived as a spaceship approaches the speed of light. Let us presume we have a ship that can travel that fast, and can dodge space debris.
I have a good idea what you would see out the window, but I am wondering if what I think is the same as what others think. I do know that the Star Trek images of stars speeding past the windows is a twist of the theory of relativity, and was done for photo effect.
What do you think?

I think that the closer you approach the speed of light more time slows down.. so you would probably see things in a sort of stage, even though your going fast, like you may see a star one day and it may be gone the next.

there will be no stars speeding past the window. there will just be stars that don't even appear to move. the speed of light is hardly breathtaking when we're talking about such absurd distances. if you are very near a star, it would zoom past pretty quick though.

If nothing unexpected happens, you will see things passing by fast outside the window.
How the other will see you might be weird (since you might look like a wave) but for you everything seems normal and probably time seems stopped.
However pproaching the center of a black whole seems weird.
