For a beginner you are doing OK. You have some cute kid shots and the little boy (your son?) is adorable. The other albums were the usual new photographer stuff we see here, fairly typical from photographers who lean heavily on post processing to make the image. I will assume you are wanting to begin to shoot for clients, and will lean my remarks toward that assumption. If you are just showing your work to friends and family, then these comments will be way too harsh. Photographers who charge money for services should be held to a higher standard than those who do it for fun and enjoyment. A person can do both!
In the portraits, your lighting is a little harsh. On camera flash flattens and causes hard shadows. Take it off camera, diffuse, use more natural light and use reflectors. I did not like most of your post processing. Hyper contrast and saturation may look dated in a few years, much like selective color does now. It works sometimes, and many young people like the look. I ain't young. You have some exposure issues, mostly in blown highlights that are being accentuated with the aggressive contrast manipulation. In the wedding album, the placing the ring shot is not in focus on the ring. In fact, I noticed a lot seem too soft, but that might be the upload to FB, which is not an ideal venue to show photography. The kissing photo has WB problems, it is yellow. That's too bad, it is the only photo where we can see the B&G's face. In the nature album all the frogs looked a bit OOF. The deer excessively so, to the point of not being a keeper. Certainly I wouldn't show it on my photography page. The flowers are average snaps seen every day, and several have blown highlights. I liked the white hydrangeas, but again, it looked soft. The rainbow rose closeup with drops was pretty nice. The bugs are not close enough to be exciting. I am also experimenting with macro bug photography, and so far have not produced anything good either. Closeup work takes time to become proficient. In every album you have a lot of centered and static compositions. Good composition can make the image compelling to the viewer.
I think you might concentrate on learning the finer nuances of forming exposure, and work some on composition as well. There is another current question here about post processing. The ideal is to get what you envision straight from the camera. Means less computer work and saves your time.
You have made a beginning. In this craft, there is always something more to learn and a new technique to try. I encourage you to keep at it. There are lots of ways to advance, classes, books, DVD and on-line tutorials and photography seminars. Continue to work and hone your skills. best wishes and happy shooting!

I am in my seventies and time is going by so quickly I haven't time to do all the photography I want to do. I can't bend down as I used to and when I do get down there to photograph that bug I can't get up again. I need a powerful diopter to see thru the viewfinder and a caddy to carry my heavy dslr plus this big tripod. (That's my wife). If I sit at my computer too long my back hurts and if I stand up I can't see the screen. Hey this is not the poor me's. I love photography in spite of the challenges and aches & pains. I am living in the most wonderful era of creativity in history and if Beethoven could compose his last symphony while blind I can still create good photos and I'm going to do it till I die Barry

There are a basic set of rules when it comes to photography and it seems that you are able to follow them. Things like color correcting and the amount of contrast used in the black and white photos. I think you are very talented for someone who only has a year of experience :). Well done! I really love the subtle moments you captured in the "Love" album. Your composition in "All around the world" is really well done and the editing is really nice. Try not to use too much flash in portrait photography however. It creates hard shadows. I find using natural light, studio lights with something to diffuse it (wax paper over the lights creates nice soft shadows) and reflective boards (white polystyrene boards work well) creates nice soft shadows and brings out more detail in the subject. If a flash is not used properly it makes everything look flat and sometimes like a "happy snap". But overall I really like your style and way of conceptualizing the photographs.

well photography is an art so it can only be judged on what your subject was... like what were you trying to achieve or what are you trying to achieve as a photographer. otherwise looks professional to me. like the baby shots. art doesn't exactly have rules on good and bad just in obvious cases, lol.

Your photos are great. However, I think you have to explore more types of photography like nightclub photography and wedding. You can even start a business from it.

Keep at it. Try not to edit your photos much.
