What does soy milk taste like?
When I was little i had to drink soy milk because I had an allergy to dairy and I remember my mom had to make sure nothing had eggs or dairy in it and something with meat because I hated it anyway I was wondering what soy milk taste like because I am trying to give up dairy to help animals.

it has kind of a nutty aftertaste. There are precautions to take when eating soy products. It is recommended for women not to consume more than 25g soy protein per day because evidence shows it leads to higher risk of female cancers. Then you have to watch out for the soy milk itslef. Many of the brands add high amounts of sugar to make it taste better but you can acquire a taste for the plain stuff quickly. There are other kinds of milk, like hemp, almond, coconut and flax milk. I've tried all the alternative milks and the flax is my favorite.

On another note... dairy cows are actually treated very well. The farmers have to be nice to them and keep them happy or else they give sour milk. Dairy cows have it really good. They even have automated floors that clean themselves and they walk into the milking machines whenever they feel like.... very much unlike cows raised for mass production of meat which are fed corn, kept in overcrowded pens, and wade around in their own waste that builds up till the animal is leg deep in it.

Chocolate soy milk is the only one I can stand to drink. I think the regular (even the vanilla) tastes like artificial grossness. There's a lot of weird ingredients in store-bought soy milk. It's cheaper to make your own if you have a halfway decent blender. I've made a lot of milks but haven't tried making my own soy milk. It's really very easy and doesn't take very long. Worth a try or two anyway, I think.
Anyway, one box of soy milk probably isn't going to break your bank, especially if you want to start drinking it anyway. Go ahead and try it and see if you like it. If not, try almond or coconut or rice or hemp or whatever other kind of milk you can find. All of those are really easy to make yourself too, with the added benefit of controlling the ingredients, saving a little money, and not giving your money to big corporations that don't need it.

It was an acquired taste for me, but after I got used to it I started liking it more than dairy milk and now I don't drink dairy milk at all for taste reasons.

I love it! You can get all kinds of different flavors, if you don't like the taste of it plain.
I always drink the plain unsweetened kind, and I think it's delicious!
I'll NEVER go back to drinking cow milk. Soy is much better. :)

Pretty much how ever you buy it. I make it myself from soy flour and I add vanilla and almond extract and a bit of honey or stevia. I also make rice milk for a change. It's a little harder to make I think.

It tastes a little similar to milk, but also has it's own distinctive taste. (:
Try Light Silk Vanilla, or Chocolate Silk.

I only drink unsweetened coconut or almond milk myself, and avoid all soy possible.

There are many different brands and they each taste a bit different. You'll have to buy a few and see which ones you like. But steer clear of any that have added sugar and flavourings.
