Wild Card riders at Motegi (MotoGP)?

I see that Shinichi Itoh and Kousuke Akiyoshi are to wild card this weekend at Motegi.

I was wondering if thats going to be on Full factory Honda's (knowing the rider rules allow wild card riders to do so) not rookies.

maybe as a wake up call to those who thought about not going to Japan

Honda have a reputation for remembering things.

And if so is there the slightest possibility of seeing a return to the days when in Japan it was normal to see a Japanese rider on the podium.

I really would love to see it . But .........?

What do you think.

Update:

Little Thumb Fairy still following you Bedouin. Giving Proc one shows it obviously hasnt read my profile page.

I think you guys might be right about the testing. Honda are all over it in free practice 2 at the moment.

Could this be a way to do some testing during the race weekend? I´ve heard they want the Japanese GP to send a message about it´s importance with all the We for Japan campaign and everything, but I think this could be a testing in desguise because it´s in their home soil.

Motegi is a circuit that Honda have always done well at so just maybe they (Honda) are just trying to help Stoner win the Championship with extra riders and to flood the positions with Honda. I like to see the wild cards get a start but if they are running at the front should not interfere with those scrapping for the championship as was the case a few years ago when a contender was taken down.

I can't see why 'wild card' riders on factory bikes would get sub standard bikes; that would be of no benefit to the rider or the factory but if they are in a satellite team then they would get the weaker bike behind the regular rider.

It will be interesting to see if any team tactics play a part in the race. Watch the Moto2 race for some local wild riders !!

Not sure about what Bedouin is saying that honda do well at Motegi , they've not won an 800 there.

Sadly, the days of REAL wildcards are not what they used to be.

I think Hopper 21 is the only wildcard this year with any real chance of doing well.

The test riders are the best in the world at testing, but are now so off the pace, its not worth them turning up.

At least JH is still a racer rather then a test rider.

[ i heard that there may be 8 factory Honda's on the grid at Motegi, a bit of an overkill i think, they can't be testing anything can they..?

you're probably right about it being a wake up call, at least one of the current factory riders said he wasn't going to Japan earlier in the season.....shame they're cutting down to two bikes next year though..o#o..

i imagine its specially to do with the penalty for injured riders no longer competing any more beneficial. the regulations make it the communities duty to replace them. with economic consequences for failing to succeed in this. and if that occurs early on contained in the season, then like very last year even as stoner develop into replaced by potential of Mika 2 of his alloted engines went to the scrapyard I save in recommendations the Brno one. giving them 2 more beneficial to play with is smart. yet your accurate, on the end of the season a constructor ought to likely benefit some factors with the right wild card. Yamaha would use Nakasuga in Japan. i visit save my palms crossed for that one.
