Parents mad about my tattoo?

I am 20 years old and I told my parents a while ago that I was going to get a tattoo. They basically gave me the cold shoulder for a day and then were like "Whatever". As they day got closer to get the tattoo I offered to let them come to the shop with me while I was getting it. They declined. I got my tattoo and my mom and dad now say that they never want to have to see it. I love my parents a lot and it really bother me that they are so upset. Anything I can say to make them less upset? (PS, they are very religious)

They might be upset at you for a while but give them some time they should get over it. They come from a different generation when tattoos weren't as acceptable as they are now. Just show them that you're still the same person, only your skin has changed and if you went to a good shop and got it done safely as possible let them know that.

I went through the same thing with my mom. She gave me the cold shoulder and didn't talk to me for 2 weeks. They're gonna feel how they are gonna feel dude. The deed is done. They will warm up to it eventually and not be so uptight about it. Just give it some time.

Well I honestly think that tattoos are a little idiotic :) Permanently damaging your skin doesn't sound like fun to me. But its too late to persuade you to change your mind about getting one so I guess just kind of tell them why you got it. Tell them that you already got it and no matter how angry they get it wont disappear.

Remind them if they're religious that they can't judge you.
