Liberals, does this make you mad?

President Obama's administration has long cited decisions made under George W. Bush as one of the main reasons why today's economy is in such turmoil. But Vice President Joe Biden dismissed that argument Thursday, telling Miami radio station WLRN that's not relevant.

"Even though 50-some percent of the American people think the economy tanked because of the last administration, that's not relevant," the vice president said. "What's relevant is we're in charge."

Biden added that he doesn't blame people who are mad at the administration, and said it is understandable and "totally legitimate" for the 2012 presidential election to be "a referendum on Obama and Biden and the nature and state of the economy."

Sounds like he's worried for his country's future.

No, not mad, I don't agree with him a hundred percent though.

But what he said was that it was understandable that people would make the election a referendum on the president and the economy.

Understandable doesn't mean they would be correct.

And its not relevant who was responsible if you are only interested in how to get out of it and don't care how we got here. You want the people in charge to get you out.

Its an understanding of people with the limited ability to understand the complexities of what happened.

Not that Obama made it worse, or took over and made it bad, its just that the simpleminded can't understand that no one could have made it better so they point at the president as if he could magically make it all gone in a couple of years.

Not a good way to pump up your base. I think what Biden has failed to realize is that even though Obama is in charge, the republicans in the senate have kept him at bay because of filibustering and now the last 2 years of his term have been hampered by a republican controlled House and a even lesser democratic controlled senate.I like biden and all that but if he keeps this stuff up, he needs to be replaced with Hillary.

Not at all. Biden is right -- its up to us (liberals) to clean up the mess.

That does not change the fact that the economy got the way it si due to the corruption, greed and disloyalty to America displayed by conservatives.

No. I've long understood that the majority of Americans are apathetic when it comes to politics and blame the current administration instead of the people actually responsible for perpetuating our national problems. Blaming Bush is pointless because Bush is already gone. Blame should be placed on those who currently are responsible for standing in the way of economic recovery -- the Republicans in Congress.

The president doesn't control the economy. It doesn't make me mad. It's typical. It's Joe Biden overestimating his importance.

No. I'd call this uncommonly straight talk from a politician, and especially lucid for Joe B.

Even though I am upset with Obama that does not mean I will go out and vote Republican. I can`t do that to generation X and Y. Voting for generation outsources Republican party is not an option.
