Christians: Nudity and "immodest" dress... how is this explained?

I'm just wondering about this... I know a lot of Christians are offended by nudity in art, forms of media, ect, and also by women wearing revealing clothing like low cut tops, short skirts, ect. I've even heard it described as unchristian and personally offensive to God himself.

I'm just curious as to why this is considered so bad? According to Christian theology, Adam and Eve were completely nude when they were created. Once they ate the forbidden fruit, they become aware of their nudity and they covered themselves because they were ashamed and conscious about it- part of the reason God got angry at them.

So, if God created humans in the nude and originally meant for them to stay that way, why is nudity and revealing clothing considered so bad among a lot of Christians? Thanks in advance.

Don't expect logical answers where religion is concerned. Early Christian Art included a lot of nudity including a lot of naked children (cherubs). There are even depictions of Jesus naked on the cross!

Remember when considering religious edicts you need to think about power much more than theology.

Organised religion is mainly about power and the subjugation of the masses. Freedom, as expressed in nudity, isn't approved of.

The reality is that before Adam and Eve sinned they were sinless. After the fall we became sinful and followed sinful desires. It is a fact that men are attracted to women visually and seeing them in the nude will increase that desire and for some they will act on it so it is not smart to have a Society were people are nude.

Because everything is a sin to Christians except praying and worshiping Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ was never to be worshiped.

In the bible Jesus always pointed man in the direction of God.

He even said there was none good but God, which mean Jesus was not a good man either.

Sin is bad. When a person dresses to cause other people to lust then they are causing sin. The human form is beautiful and in art is fine but not walking on the street where even children can see.

Not all who self-identify as Christians are actually Christian

    Here is our instruction:

    1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

1Ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Considering the obesity of most Christians, I'm kinda glad they're into modesty.

I think it's considered bad by most humans, Christian or not. It's a social moral.

Killing witches and homosexuals isn't bad according to the bible, but dressing a certain way is, complete nonsense.

    Exodus 22:18

Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

    Lev.20:13

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

it's bad because of (man's) lust. when it courses others to lost its making them sin and also putting yourself at risk of abuse in some cases.

Most Christians are overweight or even obese. They gotta punch new holes in their Bible belts.
