Vancouver gonna have 2 suspensions after tonight?

First, Hunchback Hall skates into Edler's elbow, and then there was the Sturm hit on Petrell. So, 2 questions...

1. How many games each?

2. At this rate, how many suspensions will the NHL hand out by the time the SCF is over?

BQ: should the NHL make its players attend a school over the summer that teaches them how to hit properly and how to play smart? (ex: not skating down the middle across the blue line with your head down *cough* Lindros *cough*) Because i'm tired of seeing guys throwing hits at guys with their heads down and i'm tired of seeing guys with their heads down skating into an area where it's almost certain you'll get hit

1- Saw the Edler hit, none (I'd argue he was bracing his own impact against the boards).

2- As many as needed to reduce head shots

BQ: Everyone is 8itching about the amount of suspensions so far, too bad! There is a new sheriff in town and he likes using his 45 caliber suspension gun. It is better that he is consistently harsh than inconsistent (like we are used too). And I am tired of hearing the "heads up" BS because you know you have not been watching the hit player for the entirety of the game (and don't tell me from TV you were) and maybe it was just once where his "head was down." Or maybe it is just because your favorite player was the hitter and you are just trying to make an excuse for his head hunting @ss. I don't trust people who make this excuse for a hit, because having a head down should not be a call to run the guy's skull through the boards regardless.

Don't think the Edler one should have been called. He just stopped up before the boards, not his problem if Hall is 4 foot nothing and runs into him, there wasn't an actual "backwards moving elbow" against him. Shanahan is going crazy with the suspensions. I mean, i'm all for enforcing the rules but it just seems to be getting ridiculous now. And no to the school, that's the coaches/trainers jobs. Teach your friggin players not to get steamrolled.

Halls head was completely down. Same thing as the Rome hit on Horton, Horton had his head down and that hit shouldnt have been a suspension! I would be really surprised if edler got a suspension. Overall clean hit. Hall wasn't seriously injured so that's great for hall

    1) they will def get some sort of discipline, shanahan is laying down his hammer every chance he gets..i know you gotta protect the players and stuff but i think he needs to loosen up his nuts a little bit

    2) individual man games total: i would easily say over 100.

bq: no, as much as that sounds necessary, these guys are professionals, they know what they are getting in to..you learn to skate with your head up when your like 7 years old. there's no excuse.

    1. I expect no suspensions, whatsoever.

    2. Maybe 60 something?

BQ- I'm pretty sure they've done that when they were younger. Plus, I'm sure they're aware of the recent rule changes and will be smart about their play. But, with nothing guaranteed, whatever happens...happens. ''Keep your head up!,'' would be my advice.

apparently dumb bum forgot how to stop and just skated into (a stationary) edler's elbow. Only in elementary school would Edler have been blamed for that. And we all remember elementary school.

a suspension is usually 1-2 games depending on severity. it could be more if there was intent to injure on top of the original call

at that rate, the canucks probably wouldnt have enough players to put out on the ice

I don't think they dervse, they were doing their job and weren't excepting to do head shots.

& I don't think the other users are going to be able to answer this question without a link. Not everyone watches the Canucks.
