It depends entirely on your definition of 'waste'.

You might consider it a waste of time to watch a beautiful sunset - I wouldn't.

You might consider it a waste of time to walk around a museum, an old town or along a beach - I wouldn't.

I would consider it a waste of time being a model - you might not.

I would consider it a waste of time watching reality TV, going dancing or knitting - you might not.

We're all different and have different values and definitions.
