My 2 year old just got bit by a duck, can carry diseases?

We were at the park and next thing I know the duck snapped him. He didn't cry its just looks like a paper cut between his thumb and finger. My docs on break so I have to wait to call. Just seeing if anyone here knew anything. I swabbed it with alcohol and put antibiotic cream on it

It's fine. Ducks and geese snap at people all the time.

I can't believe people are actually suggesting you go to the ER!

Hi ducks can carry germs, I would call a doctor or go to the emergency room to be safe but as you said you put the anti bacterial stuff on it, and it wasn't so bad then it sounds like you have done the right thing. I know some animal bite require a shot I'm not sure if duck bites do or not, best to check x

I'm sure it's fine. Just keep an eye on it, if it seems to be getting infected then call your doctor when he gets back.
