My sister and I are going on a Mission Trip this summer. How can we raise money? PLEASE help!!!?
She has got a job but I don't because I'm currently in college and very busy. It will cost $1,500. She will help me raise money though. I have from now until June. I babysit some on the weekends but that isn't enough. Please be creative. It can involve my church or my neighborhood, anything at all.

Sacrifice something you enjoy and put the money toward the trip. For instance, if you usually go to the movies once a week, stay home instead and put the money that would have been spent on the ticket and concessions toward your trip.
Work. Wash cars. Mow lawns. Walk dogs. Shovel snow. Babysit.
Send out sponsor letters to family, friends, neighbors, businesses you frequent. You can find examples online and then customize it to fit your needs.
Host a yard sale. Since everyone will not be able to contribute financially, you might suggest in your sponsor letter that you are looking for items that are no longer wanted/needed to be sold to raise funds. AND, at the yard sale instead of pricing items have information about your trip displayed and ask for donations- you are likely to get more money that way.
Ask for funds toward your trip in lieu of Christmas or birthday gifts.
Host a spaghetti supper at your church, with funds going toward the trip.
If your church is open to it, you might get the pastor to agree to being "kidnapped" or "jailed" and then the funds raised to "ransom" or "bail" him can go to the trip.
$1,500 is not a lot of money and is very doable. You only need to raise $150/month or $37 a week to meet your goal.

I definitely would involve your church as much as possible. Let them know what you can do and offer services to the other people in the church. Going church to church is also a great way to gather the needed funds. I assume you are going on this mission trip with a purpose; teaching, signing, medical, etc. Check with other churches, maybe within an hour of your home and request time to speak to the church on Sunday evenings. Give them a plan of what you hope to attempt and ask for financial support.
Other than these options, I am sure you have thought of the normal fund raising events. I used a Golf Tournament a few years ago. Have a friend (who knows golf) help you arrange a tournament; get the course, print flyers, get some donated prizes, etc. Charge a little extra for the golf, sale mulligans, get sponsors, etc. I raised about $1,200 in just one event. Good Luck

Our church gathered recipes from the congregation and printed a recipe book to sell as a fundraiser for our mission trips. I'm not sure how large your church or community is, but we had to sell something like 200 copies to pay for the printing - everything after that went toward our mission trips.
You could also maybe have a church rummage sale with proceeds going to the trip. We did that also, and made over $1000 on a one-day sale.

Ok here it goes, well theres many ways such as: ask a store if you can do a car wash in there parking lot and have an alloted area for the car wash and as the people go into the store you guys will wash the cars, you can ask for donations from stores (a great many stores will donate lots of great stuff), if your a great guy you can go to a park and get permission from the city to do a variety show there then have tons of your and your sisters friends come and do skits (small comedic acts), or whatever they want and the ticket sales will go to the trip.

Where are you going? I am in your boat too, lol! I am going to the Philippines next summer. I also went to Honduras in April and that trip cost $1,000. For Honduras, I just sent out donation letters and my trip was completely paid for by just asking family and friends for help.
For the Philippines, it will cost about $3400-$5400 depending how long I go?
I just sold some Java Joes Coffee for $12 a bag and made $175. They work with anybody from large groups to individuals. Also the lady that helped me Kathy was so nice and they are Christians.

I sold the coffee $12 per bag and made $6 profit.
