Color ink refilled and printer still says ink level low?

I have a hp deskjet 960c printer and the low ink light came on and i refilled it and it still is saying the ink level is low. Is there a way to reset this. What a stupid problem. Please only reply if you have a know a way to reset the ink level without me spending 50 dollars on a new ink cartridge because I just paid to have this refilled.

Refilled cartridges are always like this, my Old Canon Pixma IP1880, never tasted a brand new ink cartridge since the ink samples came with it is all used.

Now whenever i refill, you can never set the Ink levels back to normal, even if you use softwares to reset or hardware reset it. But you can still use it, just get use to seeing it low level.

D: You shouldnt have thrown it out! I have an hp deskjet as well, F4480 and I had this problem. The answer? Tape. Shipping tape. My problem was that the ink cartridge didn't PROPERLY fit. It need to be pushed in a little and pushed up a little more. So I taped it. It worked. Of course these are brand new ink cartridges and the printer says they are only 1/4 full. But we all know they lie >.> Printer works.

You should not be putting refilled ink cartridges into your printer. Because there is no guarantee that they will work. Brand new original ink cartridge is still the best.

did you also know that ink cartridges have expiration dates on the them and even though the cartridge is brand new and full; hp will reject it because of the expiration date?

You can not reset this. The chip in the head can not be reset once the cartridge is empty. You should still be able to use it.
