What do i do about this email Hacker?

a bunch of my friends say that they are getting emails from me that are weird spams. my email doesn't show any signs of contamination aside from the "mailer demons" thing that pops up whenever a message fails to go through. it had a huge list of people it was being sen to, all of them are people i know but not all are on my contacts list so maybe they got their emails from previous emails sent to me?

how do i get rid of this problem? i already changed my password to the email account and ran spy-bot but i don't know if that was enough.

it is a yahoo account.

thanks for any advice...

Someone is spoofing your e-mail address pretending to be you...which is happening more and more....

This happens alot...usually a win 32 backdoor Trojan or bot is placed on the computer by going to unsecured sites or visiting a website that has a Malicious URL code built in for anyone clicking on the website....your e-mail has not been hacked...nor do you need to change your password (but that is up to you).....but the infection(s) must be removed...download and scan with these two free utilities....and when you download malwarebytes...it will ask you for a free trial to the paid pro version...just click "no thanks"...the free version works just as well....

The most you can do right now is change your password.

Just tell your friends to let them know if they keep receiving weird emails. If they do, I would suggest merely making a new email account and switching everything over to that one. :]

Check your sent items folder to see the emails thatyou've sent and to see who you sent them to.
