Cat 6 vs Cat 5e Cabling?
I'm putting some network cabling in a couple rooms in my house. Is there any reason why I should NOT use Cat 6? In other words, is there any reason why Cat 5e (or another cable) would be better than Cat 6?
Thanks.

Use Cat6! 5e might save you a few pennies but 6 is a better cable with less noise. You will need to be sure and use cat6 jacks, plugs, etc.

i in my opinion nevertheless use Cat 5E everywhere in my company workplaces. Cat 6 has somewhat greater of a fee, and no genuine fee above Cat5E. Cat 6 it somewhat is spec'd out to have the means to guard greater interference, and run swifter speeds, yet gigabit is made to run over Cat5E cabling, so there is not any genuine ought to spend the greater funds. some manufacturers make Cat6 for an identical fee, if it is so, you may go forward and do it, even though it somewhat is like getting the gold plated AV jacks, they don't replace the certainty that the sign would not prefer a bargain to run. base line, if the fee is an identical do it, yet gigabit will run over Cat5E, and you do not even prefer that around the homestead (homestead windows OS would be unable to go lots over 600 Megabits in speed.)

Cat 6 would be recommended. Be prepared for a change in terminations....Cat 6 has a backbone/separator which separates each pair of wires....terminations are a bit different regarding load bars. Other than that……go Cat 6 if you're wiring and skip the lower Cat's.
