Why don't the media know what a stall in an aircraft is yet?

Another story in the paper today about the pilot guiding a "stalled" plane.

Update:

Hey, grammar snobs: "media" is plural.

Did you ever stop to think that 95% of the people reading the story think it means that the engine shut down, just as in their Cadillac. Trying to enlighten the public never is a success and it ticks off those people who already understand. Stick to the headline and skip the story. The headline will be sensational enough and likely far from the truth.

They are media reporters. They do not know the technicalities of what they are reporting on. They are trained in journalism, not aviation or fire fighting or politics.

I have NEVER seen a story that I knew the truth about, that the story represented the true facts of the issue.

I got myself elected as a politician a few years ago. I finished my term, but I did not run again. Lots of money, miserable job. It destroys your credibility and your personality. I admit that publicly. The details of what it did to me remain confidential with a few trusted friends, but let me suggest to you that you should not get involved in politics if you want to remain a normal person. I have been out of politics for some time now, and the experience continues to affect me.

With one notable exception, all of the stories that were written that involved me were not correct. The story was always twisted to sensationalize, at the expense of the truth. A couple of stories were intentionally biased to destroy my credibility and present me in the least favourable light as possible, with a very twisted slant on the stories.

    News is ALWAYS biased.

News is very rarely true. A lot of it is based on rumours with no verification of the truth of the rumour. Once in a while you can find a truthful reporter, but they are few and far between.

That is not a story about aviation, but your question is about news reporters, not about airplanes.

    Have a good day.

An aerodynamic stall just has the same name as something most other people only associate with engines. When it is reported incorrectly, it just shows lazy journalism.

The media sell sensationalism. As long as it captures the interest of the widest possible audience they will broadcast it. Thats why 100 people dying in a fiery plane crash makes the headlines, while thousands die in car-crashes get no coverage at all: ones interesting, the other's not.

Because most people in the media have no technical education and even most engineers in other industries don't understand aerodynamics and fluid flow physics.

I love the news media, call it newspapers or radio and television -

Have you noticed how accurate their news reporting are about airplanes...?

Do you know it is exactly as accurate, when they report medical news -

    Or financial news -

    Or political news -

    Or...

And do you know that the best are news from USA tv stations...? -

That is the reason I never watch CNN -

I watch BBC, TV5Monde (France), RAI (Italy) etc... they do not claim expertise -

Cuz simply people don't care about planes and think they are simple to understand

You have to take what the news says with a grain of salt. even the aviation experts (who are really just employees with a PPL) are usually wrong.

If you do watch the news, never watch fox...please god dont watch fox new
