Christians, Do you accept Judaism as a form of Christianity.?

The old testament is taken from the Torah from the Israelite, Why are they not Christians when Christianity branch out of Judaism? Are you not worshiping the same Abrahamic God? If you think otherwise, Please share your opinion with us here in Yahoo Answers. Thank you. Peace be with you.

    >No because by definition in order to be a Christian you have to believe in Jesus Christ as the ONLY Son of God, the Savior of the world. He also has to be the "Messiah."

Jews don't accept that. They think Jesus was a prophet alright, but NOT the Messiah. Jews are still waiting for the Messiah to come.

I am not a Christian now, but I was raised an Episcopalian. I have been Jewish for 40 years, my children were raised as Jews, I had a B'at Mitzvah as an adult (reading from the Torah scrolls in Hebrew) so I think I am well qualified to answer this question (although others may disagree).

Jews do not accept Christ as the Son of God, the Messiah, or anything else other than a compassionate and popular teacher. Other than 'Jew for Jesus', they have little interest in Jesus Christ.

Christianity grew from Judaism. Jesus was a Jew. It is logical that we worship the same God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and that Christians learn from (approximately) the same Old Testament. But the similarity ends there, except for a few pieces of common liturgy.

No. That topic is covered well all over the Bible. Even the Old Testament. They are going to become believers, God tells us that in Zechariah, an old Testament prophet, and Ezekiel 37 and others as well.

God will have them believe, but only when the return happens.

EDIT: They are two different covenants from the same God. So we are connected, but if I adopt a form of Christianity that mixes with Judaism, I've just perverted the Gospel, which is what a lot of Christians are doing with their moral stances. They can have any social/ political stance they want, but when it comes to the Gospel, they should NEVER tell anyone that they have to change in order to come to Christ. That's what Paul talked about in Galatians, and what Jesus meant concerning the "leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

The Old Testament is the Hebrew Tanakh, the Torah refers to the first five books called the Books of Moses (because he wrote them).

Practitioners of Judaism are not Christians because they don't believe that Jesus Christ was the Messiah prophesied in the Tanakh (Old Testament).

    *Christ*ian

Christianity is essentially the fulfillment of Judaism.

And yes, both Jews and Christians worship the same God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel (Jacob).

I think it would be more accurate to say we believe Christianity is a form of Judaism. We believe we are the branch of Judaism which accepted the Messiah, while modern Judaism represents the descendants of the larger group which did not believe Jesus was the Messiah and continue to wait for him.

Well, we definitely believe in the same God...

But I don't think that Jews are Christians. :3 They're their own religion. They don't believe Jesus is God and they don't have the New Testament. So there are some MAJOR differences between the two of us.

-- Not that differences are bad or anything. XD

i would be unable to have self assurance my eyes. are you able to truly declare such issues with a right now face? without even delving into opinion i grants you info; the only government that could easily be called a christian theocracy is taken under consideration one of the Vatican, in case you are able to call below 2 hundred human beings a "usa." the different significant "christian" usa has a seperation of church and state. Islamic Governments implement the Sharia, which forces non-muslims to the two, convert, pay a tax and stay a 2nd type citizen, or die. How this equates to being diverse and tolerant, i could elect to understand. right here in united statesa., we don't rigidity convert everyone and we don't colonize everyone, have been the only usa contained in the international that is going to conflict and dosen't shop the land we conquered.

    No.

Christianity IS Judaism ... and Judaism, the one we see being worshipped today, is an unfinished revelation.

We worship the same God and we don't worship the same God ... considering that we believe Christ is God, and the Jews believe otherwise, we cannot be worshipping the same God.

    Because Judaism is NOT Christianity.

Christianity is accepting Jesus as the Messiah and Jewish people don't believe that he was the Messiah.

They are not considered Christians because a Christian believes that Jesus Christ was and is the Messiah and they do not. It's the easiest way to put it.
