Number #19 Colts being re-worn by a no namer?

Personally they should several things:

1. Change the Hall of Fame stuff to Baltimore Colts (For whoever got the achievements)

2. Retire the #

3. If they let someone wear it, let someone respectable, like Manning.

In college he was #16 now he's #18.

I'm a Baltimore fan. Generations of my family were Baltimore colts fans, knew Unitas.

I know its just football and a number, but some people are raging.

Unitas hated the Colts for leaving Baltimore and pretty much disowned them for it so I doubt he'd mind if a player in Indianapolis wore #19.

    Unitas was a great QB.

I thought they already moved the Baltimore Colts exhibits to the Ravens. If they do that, then anyone should be able to wear #19 because the NFL would no longer see a connection between the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Colts.

If the exhibits stay with Indy, then the number should be retired because that connection remains..

In addition, Baltimore needs to introduce the Indianapolis Colts instead of the Professional NFL team from Indianapolis. It sounds childish. I respect the Baltimore Colts' history, but the Indianapolis Colts present and future needs to be respected, as well.

What's really sad is that, prior to the brouhaha, if you asked Kole Heckendorf which famous Colts players wore #19 I doubt if he'd have a clue.

Heckendorf and Unitas are about the same size and neither was highly recruited coming out of college. Unitas, in fact, was cut by Pittsburgh before signing with Baltimore as a free agent. Maybe the number will work it's magic for young Heckendorf.

Yeah i would hate to see Manning change his number to 7 cause he wants a Michael Vick jersey but cant afford one.

That is a pretty scummy move on the Colts part.
