Help With My Internet connection?
Hi there! In my sister's room is the router for our house. My mom's laptop can connect to our wifi as can the three iPhones, the Wii, and the Nintendo DS's. Buuuuuut my computer wont. I have a Belkin USB adapter. It can find out network and the neighbors, but it wont connect to ours. Jut to give it a shot, I tried to connect to a neighbor's. I got to the enter password screen which is farther than I can get on my own network.
My sister used to have the adapter and i had the router could that be the problem or atleast part of it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jenna
The button didn't work...
It fails "due to an unknown reason"
every time.
Where do I find the model number?
What am I supposed to do with the MAC address once I have found it?
Do you think its the router or adapter?

It's possible the router has some sort of pairing system that would require you to push a button on it. Without the router's model number, I cannot be more help.
The model number for the router would be on the router's packaging, or somewhere on the router itself. It'll probably be a set of numbers and letters, such as DG-834T or something similar like that.

There should be a MAC address setting in the router, which only allows certain devices to connect, even if you have the PW, your devices MAC address needs to be entered into the list. Connect to the router and enter your address to the list.
You may want to google: How to access router
and: how to find MAC address.
