There have been many incorrect opinions stated about this. Even though Hawaii is accepting of many races there are very few African Americans here for whatever reason In the 2010 census there were only 1.6% in Hawaii as compared to 12.6% in the nation. There is a larger transient African-American population because of the military presence..
There is no majority race in Hawaii, everyone is a minority. There are about 25% Caucasian, 40% Asian (Japanese, Chinese, Korean), 10% Hawaiian and Pacific Islander, and 25% mixed race. Just in my immediate neighborhood there is a mixture of Caucasian, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, and African American.

Yes, many. Mostly living near the military bases and college areas, which means they are usually here only for work or school, and leave after a few/several years.
African-Amercians lvie elsewhere in Hawaii too as, like many from other ethnicities, they have settled here. I know multi-generational families of African-American descent... mixed... you know the old story, came to Hawaii, fell in love, married a Hawaiian girl. :)

Come on! Everyone knows that the president of the U.S. was born in Hawaii and his black, Kenyan father lived there too.
Honolulu is a very multi-cultural city and has been for a hundred years.

Of course! And why should it be a big deal, that you are singling them out to specifically ask if they are there? Hawaii is pretty accepting. I live there in the summers :)

Yes, they have a long history here and were well accepted by the Hawaiian community.
