How can I make these contractions stop or get more regular?

I am 37 1/2 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been having contractions for 3 weeks now. Very weak and crampy like that aren't making much change. I am about 75% effaced and 1-2 cm dilated. The contractions I have been having are somewhat regular about every 10-15 minutes, lasting about 30-45 seconds. Basically all day and night, there isn't much I can do to make the stop or get stronger and I am getting frustrated with it. I wish my body would make up it's mind already. My doctor seemed to think I will have him this week, which I don't mind to keep him in a little longer but I am getting worn out with this constant pressure and the contractions. Like I said they aren't strong, just enough to make me uncomfortable. I have walked, bounced on my yoga ball, and used my breast pump to try and get them closer, also I have showered, laid on my side, drank tons of water to try and make them stop. Nothing has worked to do either one... Are there any other tricks I can try to either get this to stop or get stronger and closer?!?

You cannot make contractions stop. You can try walking, squatting, walking up and down stairs, sex, or even spicy food to try and make them stronger but unfortunately those are just old wives tales so you may just have to wait : / Sorry!

    Good luck!!!

If you are already drinking tons of water to make sure you are not dehydrated it sounds like your body is just prepping itself for the real thing. Continue to use the ball & breast pump. You can use evening prim rose oil and acupuncture or acupressure works well. Semen also contains prostaglandins that help to soften the cervix and orgasm will help to induce contractions. Keep active, go for walks and do elephant steps where you take wide strides. Squatting with feet as flat as possible helps bring baby's head down onto the cervix to help change it too. Good luck!
