what are some cliche/non-cliche couples?
Which couplings would you consider cliche? Which would you not?

Non cliche: Anita Blake - Necromancer (Detective; Vamp Executioner; Human Servant to the Master Vampire of the City of St. Louis; Nimra; Lupa) - I think that covers all her titles - coupled with - Vampire (Jean Claude); Were Wolf (Richard); Were Leopard (Micah, Nathanial -her animal to call); and a human servant of her own. All at once - AWESOME.
Witch - Griffin
Succubus - Nephilim (I've read two books like this and talk about a power struggle)
Fallen Angel - Demon
Demon - Demon (even the bad guys need love too)
Dragon - Witch (granted she was thrown out of her coven but hey...)

A cliché couple that has been used a fair amount is a vampire-human couple. Also, there's the pairing of a geek and a cheerleader/jock. Both are cliché, but both are pairings I like :)

Cliche:
Vampire/Human
Werewolf/Human
Shifter/Human
Boy/Girl/Girl
Girl/Boy/Boy
Non-cliche:
Zombie/Human (that'd be a bit weird though.)
Necromancer/Human
Orc/Human
You know... all the sentinal fantasy creatures you never really hear of in books.
