Why do people insist on Hijab?

I'm a Muslim and I agree. To start with a man should control his desires.

Second, some people tend to think a hijab makes you're a better Muslim then people who don't wear a hijab. I see tons of girls wearing hijabs, yet wearing make up, tight clothes, swearing, eating non-halal meat and openly flirting with guys. I don't think that's being a good Muslim.

I fully agree with you. I don't wear it nor does anyone in my immediate family. Only when praying are we supposed to cover our hair other than this it's not a must to cover the hair. The whole hijab thing comes from Saudi Arabia. Poor people going to Saudi and coming back with lots and lots of money brought along with them the Saudi way of life.

hijab is important for example take two cake keep 1 cake open 2 close it with plate and go on road for some distance which one will you prefer close one so hijab is as such

The word Khimar used in Qur'an means head veil in Arabic. What's your problem with hijab may I ask? personally I can't imagine my mother or sister going out with their hair exposed.

i agree ! i dont wear it and i find it degreading in a way, nowadays islam is more about labeling yourself, rather then actually believing it !

It's more of a pre-Islamic Arabia cultural thing.

Culture spreads.

People don't insist on hijab.

Muslims do that.
