why am I getting a message saying High Memory usage in internet explorer?

when I go to any site the page isn't coming up totally and I keep getting a pop up saying stack overflow at line 0. I am also getting x's in certain boxes on every page. Do I have an infection? and if so should I be using my computer?

    Firstly, IE is a terrible web browser, use FireFox or Google Chrome. Also delete all your history and temporary internet files.

    To delete your history follow this;

    To delete your temp folder;

    - Close your web browsers

    - Go to "Start" at the bottom left corner and search "Run"

    - Type in %Temp%

    You can now safely delete the entire contents of this folder, as it is just temporary files your computer saves from your browsing sessions. This should free up space and help your computer run faster.
