What percentage of a nationality must you be in order to mark it on an official document?

...such as an application for a scholarship, a school, etc...

Since I am 25% of one [general] background & nearly 75% of another, can I still mark the 25%? or only the 75%?

Thanks!

    A nationality is where you hold citizenship, not to do with background or sometimes even where you were born. You can be born in Brazil but only have Australian citizenship. What country/ies are you a citizen of? that will tell you you're nationality, look at a passport. It isn't your background, that's ancestry.

    E.g Nationality = British

    Ancestry = Spanish/Russian

    You are 100% the nationality of the country where you were born. The racial history of your parents and generations beyond doesn't matter.
