My tongue hurt from too much gum...?

I kow I chew wayy to much gum and I need to tone it down dramatically. I am getting red spots on my tongue and they hurt like little cankersores. Is there anything I can do to sooth it or rid of them? And any tips on how to stop chewing somuch gum?

    I'm not sure how to quit chewing gum, unless you simply buy a flavor you hate. Then when you want gum, it might trigger your brain to say that it's gross.

    For the relief, I can definitely help. Get a tube of orajel. It's on the aisle with the toothpaste. Get the one that's a gel, not a liquid with some applicator. I found the gel to be easier. It helped me tons when I had braces. Rub it on a sore spot and it will go numb for awhile. Your taste buds will be toast while it's active, but as long as you're not eating, it shouldn't matter. If you do eat while your mouth is numb, be careful not to bite your tongue. I know it sound stupid, but I've actually done that when I wasn't paying attention.
