What's up with women and young girls thinking tax payers should take care of them?

If you have no money and no job don't be going out and having sex and then expect hard working tax payers to take care of you! If you can't take care of your baby put them up for adoption instead of turning them into another generation of welfare recipients.

Update:

Don't blame education. EVERYONE has the same access to eduation. It's what you make of it. Heck, Bill Gates dropped out of college and has been one of the richest men in the world for the last 10-15 years. People are just lazy and don't want to work.

I agree with what your saying. my mum had 5 kids and was on welfare. I myself have a 10month old boy, but im not on welfare. my fiance works full time and we claim working tax and childtax (which every working family is entitled to). As for girls getting pregnant and expecting people to pay for there children, alot of people get pregnant for exactly that reason, money, a place to live, security of not having to get a job etc. The hard truth is, people have done i for years and will probably carry on doing it fir years to come. it is a shame but unforunatley a reality.

While I disagree with E27 on the state of American schools, it is true that if we put the money into education, and guaranteed every student who wanted it a post-secondary education, it would be a better use of the money than paying welfare. I know of a doctoral student who did her research on why girls got pregnant. The only factor she found that made a difference was if her family had talked to her about her future, and what a difference having an education and good job would make when she had children. Nothing else deterred the girls- not religion, not parents threatening to throw her out of the house if she got pregnant, nothing. But a lot of girls from poor families don't see any chance of getting an education or being able to support their children.

If they could get a decent education maybe they wouldn't be thinking this way. People from socioeconomically depressed backgrounds in Australia did not sit back and get pregnant at high school age (it was the exception to the norm if it happened where I lived and I am 22, now in the US) they could expect to get a university degree (paid for by govt) because the education system is decent there. I spent time in both systems and found the American public schools to be absolutely appalling.

If there is the mindset of a way out, I think people would take it. Unfortunately school systems seem to be getting worse here not better while university ed. is more expensive.. and the young mother trend increases.

I agree... but the problem is that many (not all, but many) girls that get pregnant and expect to be on welfare were raised that way...their parents are on welfare with 5 or 6 kids by different daddies, their friends parents are on welfare... it becomes a learned/expected behavior. Until society stops coddling them this trend will continue.

AMEN!!! I totally love you for that comment. I am sick of these kids having kids, and then these people that have tons of kids and expect those that work hard, to pay for them. Get a job or keep your legs closed!
