Harold and the purple crayon by Crockett Johnson, my sister got this at the library but she loves it and had to buy a copy because she didn't want to return it.

  • So I use to be a toddler teacher and I am now a mommy of a toddler, I stocked up in books at home that I taught the toddlers at school. For halloween, we have been reading the 5 little pumpkins but I love

    Brown bear brown bear

    good night moon

    Mouse paint

    Vegetable soup

    Trains

This was all part of the 123 read program for infants and toddlers

But my book collection is huge for my son, I have click clack moo, and so many more.

My daughter is 1, but loves books. Favorites include:

    Where is the green sheep

    Owl babies

    Goodnight Moon

    Night Noises

    Llama Llama Red Pyjama

    Hairy Maclary series

    Who sank the boat?

    Are you my mother?

Best idea was to ask a librarian at my primary school - she spent ages picking out possible books based on what my daughter already liked.

    Ehm..

For a simple, step-by-step program that can help your child learn to read visit this site: http://readingprogram.toptips.org/

Learning to read at a young age is important for the development of the child. It helps them develop a better understand of their surroundings, allows them to gather information from printed materials, and provides them with a wonderful source of entertainment when they read stories and rhymes. Children develop at different rates, and some children will develop reading skills quicker than other children; however, what's important is that as the parent, you are keenly aware of your child's maturity and reading level to provide them with appropriate books and activities to help them improve.

As parents, you are the most important teacher for your children.

My little girl loves Ten Little Fingers And Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox. One of my all time favorites is Diary of a Wombat because it's funny for adults as well.

My 12 month old is currently mesmerized by any Sam Lloyd book.
