Does Anyone Get S.A.D?

As the leaves fall

so does my mood

seasonally affected

like a leafless gloom

sunlight disappearing

from shortened days

as I chase these moods

from a cloudy haze

I'd like to dis-order

these seasonal ways

and bring the sunshine

back to my days

I love the fall and winter! It's so beautiful, as long as the roads are nice of course. I like your poem, its very clear and well written. There are probably a few words or phrases you could leave out to bring more clarity.

    "Seasonally affected

Like a leafless gloom" Is, in my opinion, the most potent line.

Be sure to keep revising and editing. I'd suggest putting it away for a while and then pull it back out.

    Back to my days

    That bring the sunshine

    These seasonal ways

    I'd never disorder

    from a cloud-puffed haze

    As I chase my moods

    Away shortening days

    Sunlight disappearing

    That leafless gloom

    Seasons unaffected

    Nor is my mood;

    As the leaves fall...

I think everyone does to an extent.

when I lived up North in Prince George, Anahim Lake and Kamloops I was finally told that was my problem, I was extrememly anemic as well. My thyroid off the charts at times and still... my SAD is not as BAD in Alabama

I do like your poem but the colorful trees in all their glorious array are a bit of heaven to my tired soul

I actually get more miserable in the summer. I hate bright, hot weather.

Winter and autumn are actually my favourite parts of the year.

Do you hear the grandfather clock ticking here? Nicely said, flows well and leaves room for interpretation. Congrats.

Yes, which is unfortunate because I generally like winter.
